Our Technology

Quantum Dots A semiconductor is a material that conducts electricity when stimulated or, when unstimulated, is an insulator. Traditional semiconductors are the building blocks for most modern technologies, but they lack versatility. Their optical and electronic properties can be difficult and costly to adjust because their electronic structure can be changed only through complex processes.

Quantum dots are different. They are semiconductor particles so small that approximately 4,000,000 quantum dot nanocrystals can fit across the face of a penny. And their small size allows their fundamental properties to be tuned or changed, overcoming many of the limitations of traditional semiconductors and opening up a world of possibilities.

Our LEDs and Lighting products, including evidot® LEDs and dotstrand^TM LED Lights, are the first consumer products enabled by quantum dot technology.
