Immunoassays

EviTag quantum dots conjugated to primary antibodies have been used to preferentially stain the surface of pathogenic E. Coli vs. nonpathogenic E. Coli and observed through microscopes and other instruments. Accurate, multiplexed assays to determine the presence of dangerous pathogens can be performed. Inexpensive detection platforms can be designed with far fewer laser and optical components because of the unique absorption and emission characteristics of quantum dots.
